Privacy Statement

Guarding your privacy on this platform is essential to us. We want to keep this platform freely accessible to anyone, anywhere, at any time. This brief privacy statement outlines our policy concerning the gathering and sharing of information through the IATI Connect platform. By visiting and using this platform you are accepting the practices described in this policy.

What kind of information do we collect?

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on the site.

By setting a cookie, IATI Connect will remember you the next time you visit the site and therefore will not have to ask questions that you have already answered (like address information).

You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although in that case you may not be able to use certain features on the site and may be required to re-enter information more frequently to use certain services on the site.

Using IATI Connect anonymously

Depending on your personal preference, you may browse the IATI Connect platform without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. We gather general browsing data from standard server logs. These include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, and information such as the web site that referred you to us, the files you downloaded, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits.

Collection of personally identifiable information

If you register for the IATI-newsletter, log on to parts of IATI Connect-Groups, request information, provide feedback, join a discussion group or join an electronic mailing list, you will be asked to provide personal information such as your name, postal address and e-mail address. This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission, and is kept in various IATI databases.

Joining electronic discussion groups may mean that other participants of the discussion group (including non-IATI employees) will see personal information that you have volunteered.  For open discussion groups, this information will be public. When setting up your personal profile you can decide which personal information you would want to disclose to other members.

Migration of Discuss-users and content

To retain the user-experience of the previous Discuss-users we migrated both all discussion-threads (content) and user-profile to IATI Connect. These users will receive a notification of their transferred profile as part of this migration. This pre-arranged profile-transfer does not disclose any (new) personal information that was not previously approved by the user on Discuss.

What do we do with the information we collect?
