We wanted to update you that we updated the IATI Currency Codelist to bring it in line with changes to the ISO 4217 Currency codelist.

The change includes, adding the new VED - Bolivar Soberano to the list.

There are now two Bolivar Soberano currencies in use. The Bolívar Soberano (VES) was redenominated by removing six zeros from the denominations. A new currency code VED representing the new valuation (1,000,000 times old VES) was introduced on 1 October 2021. This is not replacing VES as the official currency code. The Central Bank of Venezuela will not adopt the new codes in the local system, VES remains in use.
