The IATI Technical Team has released v2.3.0 of the Validator API, v2.6.0 of Validator Services, and v2.6.0 of Validator Web, incorporating the following enhancements:

  1. Various bug fixes: A bug causing deep XML elements (e.g. iati-activities/iati-activity/result/indicator/period/actual/comment/narrative) to trigger a false critical validation status has been fixed in the Validator API. This bug affected one dataset from one publisher, and their dataset has been successfully revalidated. A bug causing schema errors occurring on line 1 of files to be reported as line 2 has been fixed in the Validator API. A bug causing unexpected behavior with validation report filtering checkboxes has been fixed on Validator Web.
  2. UI enhancements to Validator Web: The validation report table UI element has been unified across organisation and report pages, displaying report metadata in a consistent manner. The "Check Data" page can now respond gracefully to error response from the Validator API, displaying an error message to the user.
  3. CSV export for organisations and files: All validation report messages (warnings, errors, and critical errors) can now be exported to CSV format for offline use. From an individual organisation page in the "Public Data Viewer," a bulk export of every message for every one of a publisher's files may be downloaded by clicking "Download Validation Report CSV." The CSV export is also available for single datasets and "Check Data" workspaces.

Full details of these changes can be seen in the GitHub release notes linked above. Thanks again to those who continue to use and provide feedback for the IATI Validator. We continue to welcome all user feedback - do post comments below or email support@iatistandard.org.

Best wishes,

IATI Technical Team
