Is there a way to see all IATI Connect activity?

I follow the "Latest Activities" section of the Welcome to IATI Connect page, but I notice it doesn’t include all new activities. There are comments on discussions and topics that don’t appear there.

For example, there’s a reply to this discussion post, but the reply doesn’t appear in my “latest activities”. I can follow the discussion to receive notifications, but is there a way to see replies without following every discussion and topic?

Thanks in advance, apologies if the solution is obvious! Hopefully this will be of use to others, too.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your great question! The Latest Activities-section on the homepage will highlight all content, incl. comments, created inside the Groups you joined. This will cover most of the relevant activities on the platform. However, when content is not connected to any Group, for example in the case of the Discussion you referred to, it will only feature in the Latest Activities-section once its published and not when someone else provides a comment (mostly to prevent an overkill of messages). In case users still want to receive notifications they can click on the ‘Follow Content’-button.  

Two relevant updates that relate to your question, and hopefully can also mitigate the issue you flagged:

  • Firstly, we are currently developing an extension that would allow for cross-posting content across different Groups. In this way we hope to cover even more relevant highlighted content;
  • And secondly, in the fall we will upload a button on the homepage to collect community-feedback and see how we can further improve the usability of the platform. We’ve included your comment already in our overview.
