Recap: Virtual Community Exchange 3 on June 28

News: IATI Governing Board announcements

-IATI future arrangements post 2022: The IATI Governing Board shared a message with the IATI Community on how the Board is working to secure future hosting arrangements for IATI. Please read this message here.

-Board drop-in: In June, the Governing Board started drop-in meetings to strengthen the link between members and the Board. The first one took place on 15 June and future drop-ins will be announced via IATI Connect. Click here to learn more about the board drop-ins.
-Q2 Governing Board Meeting: The most recent meeting of the IATI Governing Board took place on 29 June (Board minutes are here)


Key Updates

Updates: Technical Community

There are four recent updates in the Technical Community:

-Datastore Services v1.5.0 Release: The IATI Technical Team has released v1.5.0 of Datastore Services, which affects Datastore Search and involves further enhancements to the Excel-optimised CSV format. This means that multivalued columns on the Excel-optimised CSV format are now separated by a pipe character. Click here to learn more about the Datastore Services v1.5.0 Release.

-Datastore Search v1.4.0 Release: The IATI Technical Team has released v1.4.0 of Datastore Search, incorporating the following enhancements: Excel-optimised CSV downloads, and an interim boolean grouping feature. Find out more about the Datastore Searcvh v1.4.0 Release by clicking here

-API Gateway v0.8.0 Release: The IATI Technical Team has released API Gateway v.0.8.0, which includes new API Definitions Endpoints. This means that new endpoints are now available for Open API 2 (also known as swagger), Open API 3, and WADL users. Click here to learn more.

-Codelist API Archive Server Migration: The IATI Technical Team announced that as part of the consolidation of the IATI technical core the codelists APIs for v1.02 and v1.03 of the standard will be migrated to a new server on 16 December 2022. Data Use Community: Updating the list of tools where you can access IATI data

The IATI Secretariat announced that the list of tools where you can access data published to IATI is currently being updated. Find out more about this update by clicking here.

News: Publish What You Fund

-Launch of the 2022 Aid Transparency Index: The launch of the 2022 Aid Transparency Index took place on 13 July. Speakers at the launch event highlighted the current state of aid transparency, tracked the progress of major development agencies and examined how we can tackle real world issues with global aid data. The index is researched and produced by Publish What You Fund and you can read more on the methodology and results here.

-Transparency of funding to Women's Economic Empowerment: Publish What You Fund has just launched the result of a two-year research for their Women's Economic Empowerment: building evidence for better investments project. They used four data sources including IATI data to map funding going to women's economic empowerment, women's financial inclusion, and women's empowerment collectives, using a country lens. This month, we interviewed Karin Costa Vazquez, a researcher at Fudan University (China), a senior non-resident fellow at the Centre for China and Globalisation (China), an associate professor and assistant dean at O.P.
